6/10/13 letter

Family, how is everyone doing?  I am sure your all enjoying summer but are probably really busy but that's alright.  It's better to be busy than not doing anything.  It's getting close to the 4th of July weekend.  That will be a fun weekend up at the cabin.  Hopefully the show is better this year than last year for you guys.  Here their Independence day is on June 12th but I don't know how they celebrate that.  The people here look for any reason to have a big party so I guess we will see what they do.  Well I am almost 6 months in so 1/4 of the way done.  I hope my language really speeds up or I might not ever learn it.  It's crazy that almost 6 months is done.  it seems short if you look back but seems long if you look forward.  Ha.  If I was a sister missionary I would only have 1 year left.  The next time I get to call home I will only have a year left so that will be fun.  I just try to look forward to something good each week.  It helps the time move faster.  It's just been another week other than they all have went back to school here so people are never home.  It's a little harder to schedule appointments.  On Thursday we left the house at 12:30 and walked about a mile to our first appointment and no one was there.  By about 2:30 we had only taught one lesson out of like 5 appointments so we had probably walked about 4 miles by then so we figured we would just try it again and walk back and see if any of them were home and they all were.  It worked out it just took some extra walking by the end of the day we had walked close to 10 miles.  I was pretty tired by the end of the day.  Our schedule is going to be hard but it will all work out.  We are getting a new mission President at the end of this month.  I am excited to see how things change and to meet the new President.  I think it will be good.  I will probably transfer on July 3rd.  That's what I think at least.  I have been in this area the longest out of anyone here so I think I will be the next to leave.  Oh and the church will be done on June 30th that's the first Sunday we will be in it so that will be cool.  Other than that just a normal week.  We found out that Dan is moving soon so that stinks.  I was hoping we could get him baptized but he is moving to Manilla pretty soon.  Sorry the letter is short not a ton has changed.  The rainy season is about to start and that slows down the work more so we will just see whats ahead.  Thanks for everything y'all do.  Love you all.  Love Elder Robison

Letter 6/3/13

Family, hey how is everyone doing. I am sure your all enjoying your summer at home. Your probably enjoying Island Park a lot. Brenan is getting close to getting married so I am sure your all busy trying to get ready for that. I think you said last time they are cultivating spuds so sounds like fun. You guys seem to always be doing something fun though so that's good. It's crazy how much has changed since I left. So many things will be different by the time I am back. Renlee will be huge. She couldn't even talk when I left now it sounds like she is pretty good at talking. Brenan could even have a kid when I get home. It's crazy how much can happen in two years. But anyways um as for me here it's been a busy slow week. We did 3 service projects. One morning we helped a family move to a new house. The other two mornings we were digging a CR or a rest room for a guy. We had to dig a 6X4 hole about 5 ft. deep. It was like digging through rocks. Ha but I have gotten really weak from being on a mission. After not doing physical labor for 6 months you get weak. After we finished I was so sore my whole body ached so I felt like a huge woose. It felt good to actually use muscles again and to use a shovel. I really enjoy doing service projects. The first day we dug the hole it was down pouring on us. Then the second day it was really hot but it was good. Teaching is still slow but we had 4 FHE this week. The first one was at Fina's house. The Apiado family came and joined us over there. It was fun we just shared a quick message and then played games. The next night it was at the Pera's families house. We shared a message there then ate dinner and they really love videoke so they sang and they always try to get us to sing. They all love to sing even if they aren't very good at it. The people here are all so loud with everything they do so when they sing it's loud. The next night was a family in the other Elders area. They cooked a ton of food for us. I was stuffed. Then she made homemade ice cream for my birthday and it was really good. I don't remember her name but they feed us quite a bit. I forgot but we were supposed to eat at our branch presidents house but they had no water so they cancelled on us so I guess it was just 3 FHE. Um Dan showed me your message and said your mom is very pretty so he said you were really nice. He also said Camry commented on a picture but he didn't say what she said so yeah that's about it for this week. So thanks for everything. Tell everyone thanks for the birthday wishes. Love you all thanks for everything. Love Elder Robison

Letter 5/26/13

Family, Hey everyone I hope everything is going well. Your probably back to cultivating ha I miss working on the farm everyday. Our work here is so different. It just repeats itself every other day but it's alright. You just get used to it. Another week of nothing very exciting. We could still use some new investigators but we haven't received any referrals in a few weeks and when we go tracting people just ran and hide from us even though we can see them. They still hide and act like no one is home. On Saturday night we had a birthday party for the little Pera's girl. Her birthday is on May 28th. We all bought her just a little gift. Things she can use to mark her scriptures. She really liked it so it was all good. It's funny how much Filipinos love to sing. When we got there they were all just singing on their karaoke machine. Every house you go to has a karaoke machine in it. Very few of them can sing but that don't matter. They just sing anyways. Some nights our neighbors do it until like 2 in the morning and they aren't very good. Transfer day is over so I'll stay in Bingagonan for another 6 weeks. Not a lot changed we got a new Kabahay in the house. Another American so there are now 4 of us. In a way it's kind of nice. He is from North Carolina. His name is Elder Loe. He is a nice kid a little different. He plays baseball for North Carolina so I think he is alright at baseball. Other than that nothing has changed. My birthday is tomorrow. I think we are going to go to the mall so it should be fun. I will finally be old enough to actually serve a mission but I am already 5 months in so that's pretty cool. Before the age change I wouldn't have even been able to leave until tomorrow. Sorry that the letter is short this week. Things have just been really slow. The work is hard right now. It's just hard to keep going nothing ever changes. Not even the food I eat. Ha no matter what I know that I will eat rice today. Well this is what I signed up for so we just keep going. The rainy season is going to start in a week or two. It rained for like 10 minutes the last 3 days. So we will see how the rain is here. They say everything gets really slow because everyone is inside sleeping but it's not as hot so that will be nice. Well thanks for every thing you all do. Thanks for the support. Love you all Love Elder Robison
