Letter 3/24-31/14
Family hey how are you all doing back home. I am sure your all busy trying to get the grain planted and what not so your break is over now its time to get back to work. I will expect to see some pictures from planting and just what your all doing. The time is really starting to fly by. I am really enjoying the weeks are flying by. The hot season is starting here and the season for brown outs. The power shuts off for about 2 hours everyday. The other day we had one for 6 hours it was so hot and it was on pday while we were emailing so I might of just randomly stopped emailing. If that happens it just means the power went out and I'll be back on because they have generators so it just takes awhile. Thats the only thing I don't really enjoy is the brown outs. Its all good we can deal with it. I'll tell you about my week. It started with p-day on Monday just a normal p-day. We emailed like normal then went and had some shirts made by a member for us. I had to buy a few things and then that was it we came and sat at home is all we did. We had one appointment and it fell through so nothing for teaching that day. Tuesday regular day of work for appointments then had to go finish a project thing for this one guy that is putting Book Of Mormons in all the hotels here. Wednesday we taught some good lessons and found some new investigators nothing to crazy though. Just normal day. Thursday I went on splits with Elder Malmarose in his area. His area is really province there is nothing out there but rice farms and very few houses and the ocean is also there but we walked so much and did lots of finding which was good. Elder Malmarose is a good kid and has a really good attitude about the work. His branch president fed us dinner then we went home and I was ready for bed. We walked forever. Friday we had meetings and weekly planning then a branch FHE that night and it was just a lot of youth. The youth are really strong here so it looks good for the future. Saturday we also found a guy that tried to kill an elder once and we aren't supposed to be in that area but we didn't know that. He liked us so it was alright. Saturday we had a good day went back and taught some of the people we tracted. They were really nice and invited us back so that was good. We also had a service project that day early in the morning we went and cleaned the road by the church with all the members. Sunday we had church then we had some youth work with us and we went to this one less active and she asked us to give her sister a blessing and so her sister pulled off her hat and she was bald. I though cancer but it turns out her hair got caught in the prop of a boat and scalped her. It was gross to touch. She blamed it on witchcraft, kind of a weird thing so that was Sunday and my week. Sorry my letter is short. I was really busy but thanks for all you do. Have a good planting season. Hope it goes well. Thanks again tell everyone hi and love you all. Love Elder Robison

March 9, 2014, this letter showed up really late
Family hey how are you all doing. I hope your all doing great and
enjoying life. Time is starting to fly by. This transfer is now over
and I will be transferring. Starting the next chapter of my mission.
President told us early that we would be transferring because our area
is becoming a sisters area. There are so many sister missionaries
coming into the field so they made our area a sisters area. The members
weren't happy when they heard they like the Elders more is what they
said. They know we can't do anything about it though. They act like
they are really going to miss us. Well I'll tell you all about my week
and what we did. Monday was our p_day and we emailed and then some
Elders in the zone wanted to go bowling so we went and bowled for a
little bit. It was good. I still really like to bowl so I had fun.
Tuesday we taught Sis. Darlina, Maia's mom. She has lots of questions
about the gospel. I think she will be baptized in the future. After we
answer her questions she understands a lot better. The spirit is
always there so she is close. She opens up to us so I hope she opens up
to the sisters. Then we went and watched the restoration movie with
Sister Melena. She would be baptized but she isn't married to her
boyfriend and they have a kid. Wednesday we taught Riley Espiritu just a
review of baptismal interview but she is now ready so that's good. We
visited Sister Jo a member. She is always really close the
missionaries. She is very poor and has nothing. Then our dinner got
moved with Brother Eudela to Friday so we had no dinner. Thursday
normal day nothing to crazy we got Mary Jane ready for her interview
this Sunday. She is so shy I hope she passes it. Friday we had to be
up early to go to our mission tour. It was really good. I enjoyed the
talks that were given. Elder Echohawk is a really nice guy. I got to
eat lunch with him and found some stuff out about him. he loves hunting
and fishing and was the Attorney General for Idaho. he ran for
Governor in 1994 but he is originally from New Mexico. Really nice and
easy to talk to. He also worked in Washington DC with the President.
Something to do with the Indians in the USA. Then he was called to be a
70 and he was one of the few people that knew about the age change
before anyone else. So it was pretty interesting but I liked him. I
also had to give the opening prayer at the meeting. After that we went
to eat with Brother Eudela at his house. It was really good food. We
also found out at the mission tour that we were transferring. Saturday
not a ton more of good bye's. We taught Riley again and tried a few
other people. On Sunday we had church. Bishop called us up to speak
since it was the last Sunday for us. After church we got Mary Jane and
Riley interviewed and they both passed so their baptism is on the 15th
but we won't be here so that stinks. Later that night we had FHE at the
BocBoc family it was good. When we got home I got a call from
President. He told me that I will be a zone leader next transfer. Then
he asked if its okay. So thats the next step in the mission. That was
my week. It was good and a little different. Crazy to think another
transfer is over. I'll be home before I know it at this rate. Well
have a good week. Thank you for everything. I love you all Thanks
again. Love Elder Robison

Letter March 23, 2014
Family hey how are you all doing. I hope your all doing really good. I have heard that the snow is gone and the tractors are coming out so that is exciting. It is already harvest time here. They are harvesting the onions and the tobacco. First time I have seen that before. It's all by hand here not much machinery here. they seem to still get by though. Sorry I missed the last week of letters. I just found the post office. I will try and do better on writing. We have gotten a lot busier since I have moved out to Mindoro. The branch wants us to do things and then we have meetings and things with the zone. Its all good though. I am really enjoying this area. I still don't know it yet but its really nice and very beautiful. Its clean and the people are great. We have been able to find lots of new people and we had two baptisms this week so I'll tell you about my week. Monday was p-day and we had to give a zone training then we had lots to do and I was really late on email sorry. Tuesday just regular day of work had a few good appointments. We got Apolo and JR interviewed for their baptism. They both passed and are really excited. Wednesday I went on splits with Elder Oyler. Nice kid he is a country kid so we got along good and could talk all day. It was nice to get to know him. He is one of the district leaders in the zone. We got punted a lot though but his area is on the beach. It was really nice Thursday we got a new investigator named Mel. Hopefully things go well for him. He was really nice. Then Elder Holden got sick the rest of the day and Friday too so Saturday we had the baptism. It went good. Apolo is in a wheelchair so it was interesting but we got it done. Holden still didn't feel good so we went home. Sunday we had church and gave Apolo and FR the Holy Ghost. We then went out and taught some good lessons. President and Sister Heywood the couple missionaries out here had all 8 of the missionaries in the branch over to eat. I like them they are really nice people so that was my week. Sorry the letter is kind of short. There were a few days my comp was sick so not a lot happened. Well I hope your all doing really well and enjoying life. Remember to always serve within your own wards and to always follow the council of our leaders. Well love you all and have a good week. Love Elder Robison
